Feng Shui Tip - Question what you read
An essential thing about learning more about Feng Shui is to be wary of what you read. Much of today’s Feng Shui is not really Feng Shui as originally taught in China. You should be aware that there are different forms of Feng Shui. What we teach is “Traditional or Classical Feng Shui”. This is fengshui based on authentic Chinese principles. Both 168 Feng Shui Advisors and the American Feng Shui Institute focus on these traditional principles and avoids the superstitious.
Traditional Feng Shui looks at each home or building uniquely. There is no one-size-fits-all in Traditional Feng Shui. Every home has a unique design, orientation, and environment. As such, Feng Shui needs to address the uniqueness of these buildings.
The key thing to remember is that much of fengshui is common sense. It should be natural and beautiful. If it is not, then it is not good Feng Shui. We often say that “If it looks Feng Shui’d, it isn’t good Feng Shui.” If there is something that stands out as a “Feng Shui Cure” then it is not really good Feng Shui. Feng Shui should be applied in such a way that you never realize that Feng Shui has been applied, but the environment feels supportive and comfortable.
Feng Shui consultations should look at the four key aspects of Feng Shui. They are the building, the time, the people, and the environment. Many consultants look at building and environment, but omit the timing and the specific people aspects.
