Feng Shui Tip - Feng Shui Colors
Did you know that you can use colors as Feng Shui remedies? They are not as strong as the actual element, but in some cases this is fine and what is needed. For example, if you need water in an area, but you cannot put the actual element of water, you can use the color blue. This can take the form of a blue blanket, a blue rug, or perhaps even a predominantly blue painting. Remedies should not be overwhelming. Remember you are trying to find a balance. So if you need an elemental remedy and choose to use a color instead, then use it tastefully and in a way that accents the room, not drowns the room.
The colors of the trigrams and the elements are as follows:
#-Trigram - Element - Color
1 - Kan - Water - Blue/Black
2 - Kun - Earth - Yellow/Tan
3- Zhen - Wood - Green
4 - Xun - Wood - Green
5 - no trigram - Earth - Yellow/Tan
6 - Qian - Metal - Silver, Gold, White
7 - Dui - Metal - Silver, Gold, White
8 - Gen - Earth - Yellow/Tan
9 - Li - Fire - Red
Be very careful with water and fire. These are two extreme elements and should be used judiciously. Both water and fire are powerful elements and a little can go a long way. They can be soft or they can hurt if misused.
Use the colors according to your own house chart. You can also find out what you need and where this year by checking the 2006 Astrology and Feng Shui Guide.
