Is Feng Shui Relevant to Economic Development?
I ran across this interesting article: Economic Development Futures Web Journal: Is Feng Shui Relevant to Economic Development?
This is fascinating because Feng Shui can play a role in economic development. Many planned communities are developing well because some thought and common sense went into them. The same thing holds true of Feng Shui. If you want a place to be prosperous, it takes some understanding of Feng Shui and some common sense.
For example, you do not want your house to be directly head on to a road. You also do not want to be situated next to a noisy factory or an airport. All of these things are common sense. But they are also good Feng Shui. So when communities develop their master plan and avoid having an industrial area in the middle of residential neighborhoods, it is good feng shui.
On the other hand, having a set location for industry and having clear flowing roads that are designed for trucks are good to help the qi of the industry.
Another key point is that despite the tragedy of Katrina and the horrible devistation it caused, when there is rebuilding, there is a revitalization of the qi.
Similar to Northridge, CA after the 1994 earthquake, the qi was refreshed (old buildings came down and new buildings and shopping went up), and the city is now doing quite well. It is also an inviting place to come and dine out, and to do business in.
In summary, Feng Shui already plays a role in economic activity, but people are not even aware of the fact that they are using Feng Shui principles.
